Akron Pride advocates and supports gender diversity issues within Akron Public Schools and the larger community. Our vision is to make APS a safe and welcoming place for gender and sexually diverse students, employees and community members.

We partner with organizations that align with the LGBTQ+ community to provide members with professional development opportunities, resources and events that support and establish an equitable and inclusive work environment. By providing these materials, we hope to enable members to participate in important issues and causes that foster a diverse and accepting LGBTQ+ community.

We encourage APS Pride members to implement principles of diversity, equity and inclusion in group activities, committee work and beyond. By supporting gender and sexual diversity, we are working to enhance the district’s commitment to respect, inclusion and equity for all staff, students and community members.
